This is literally a flip of the iconic Estevan Oriol photo of the "LA Hands" http://www.estevanoriol.com/ Would be cool way to parody it to show my name. Would've been cooler if I came from LA too.

It's been an awesome experience working with the guys at Artwork for some collaboration t-shirts. They also have some designs from some other local talents!

Been getting into some brush lettering lately. The brush pen was given to me by Leigh Reyes (ECD of Lowe Philippines). Here's a few samples.

The wife and I had some thank you cards made too!

It's an honor for me to be part of a movement pushing for a Design Council of the Philippines. The talent is here but we lack support. We have partnered with Senator TG Guingona to move this project forward. Exciting times ahead for Philippine design!
Visual.ly just guessed a profile of me based on my tweets. It's amazing the system knew I was a designer!

I was a speaker back in 2008 for Collision Theory (with Caliph8). This is a must-attend for designers young and old. I'm also excited to see my man Mike Friolo! He's the Fil-Am designer who did the original Manny Pacquiao logo for Nike. I suggested the Graphika Manila guys to invite him for the talk and I'm glad they did!

With 1 day left before the Pacquiao - Mosley fight, Manny has been seen wearing my tee. Here's some photos and footage during the weigh-ins. He's also encouraged everyone to wear yellow on fight day as a symbol of unity for his fight against poverty in the Philippines.

The Sacred Heart piece I did is now being sold in the Nikestore. Click here: Nike changed the colorways a bit. Here's how I wanted it to look on blue. The yellow should've been gold foil.

Early this year, I was emailed by the fine folk over at BDA Creative London for an exciting project for ESPN Europe. I've always wanted to tap the UK/Europe market for some design projects so you could imagine I was jumping off my seat with this opportunity!
ESPN Classic was creating a new identity tv spot and tapped several artists/illustrators to do portraits of athletes. It was an honor to design for these fine names in sports -- Ayrton Senna (F1), Jonah Lomu (rugby), Carl Lewis (track & field), and Steffi Graf (tennis).
Below is the final illustration. I can't wait to see the actual animation!! Here's a link to some larger photos on ESPN http://espnmediazone3.com/rs/?c=3055&k=259cb0310f . There's some fantastic work from other artists as well.
Some closeups:

Here's the teaser animation:

Tony Atayde of Nike Philippines posted this on his Twitter last week. Manny was training in Baguio and wearing my latest design for him.
The original brief was to design something around the quote that Manny said -- "Don't tell your God you have a problem, tell your problem you have a great God." Manny is a pretty religious person so I designed this based on the sacred heart. I wanted the quote to be a secondary element, only seen upon closer inspection.
Here's another photo (source: AP)
Nike did a version on a grey shirt which kinda looks weird to me haha. Here's the original colorway I did.

I also did an interpretation of the brief using a rosary as the main design element--and the quote forming the beads. I guess there's something about rosaries and boxers. Manny is often seen wearing one, especially before and after his fights. I thought it was a cool concept as well but unfortunately Nike did't produce it.

Last Saturday I was invited to give a short talk to design and photography students. Hopefully inspired a few of them kids to pursue their passions. Also found a few artist's works that I loved. I wrote down the names but unfortunately I forgot which names the pieces belong to. Great stuff!!
